And thus the great migration from LJ to DW gains yet another member. Why me? Well, I wanted to be able to post polls again. I let my LJ paid membership lapse a while ago, I can't remember why exactly, but I remember it being for a reasonably good reason. Whatever that reason was, it doesn't apply to DW, so they get some of my money. This may even result in me earning some invite codes, but I don't have any yet. Anyway, some parish notices:
1) The move from LJ to DW gives me a chance to think a bit more about what I use these services for, expect some as-yet-unspecified shifts in focus in future. This may well end up with me generating a small, reasonably-well-defined set of tags.
2) The default policy on LJ was Friends-Only; Access-List-Only will I think be the default here, except that it's likely I'll make more exceptions to the default as a policy than I have done previously. If you want to read, just subscribe, or leave a message here, or whatever, and I'll add you as soon as I notice. People who don't want a DW account will have to read via OpenID - apologies, but such is life.
3) Daily photos: these will be posted to LJ in the usual way for the next week or so until I get around to adjusting my scripts: after that, the idea is to have a feed so that photophiles can get their fix without the need for me to clutter up everyone's Friends/Reading pages.
4) I won't be importing my LJ history; I'll be treating this as essentially a fresh journal without too much of a tie to the old one.
So, anyway, yes, Hello, World!
