A little analogy-making game

Based on some research I read recently. I'll post more about it when people have had the chance to have a go.

Suppose the letter-string "abc" were changed to "abd"; how would you change the letter-string "ijk" in "the same way"?

OK, now try aabc -> aabd, ijkk -> ?

abc -> abd, kji -> ?

abc -> abd, mrrjjj -> ?

abc -> abd, rssttt -> ?

abc -> abd, xyz -> ?

I vaguely remember it, but not what the conclusions are. I think somehow when it's presented as a logic puzzle people can get too involved in assuming there's a "the" right answer, when it's more like asking "how to pronounce 'unionised'", and it's ambiguous between multiple interpretations, and everyone may or may not see the same one as definitive. I'm interested to hear what you had to say.
